Thought for the Day: People Who Do Nothing

Have a Killer Friday 13th

Am I Asking For Too Much?

Have you ever sat to yourself and gone over your list of requirements and standards for that perfect mate?  You look over the list and you start examining what's realistic and what's really something that you can't control.  Well I'm in that place right now.  I'm asking myself "am I asking for too much."
The last couple years my relationships have lasted a couple weeks to only a few months. I've had some that seemed just right and some that were no count.  I've had some that were genuinely interested, but I guess due to the fact that I like to take my time and not rush into sex, that ran them off.  All I ask is for someone who loves me for me and accepts me for me. Someone who isn't all about getting into my cakes. What shall I do?
One main issue is for my break ups is the fact that my personality is "too much"or the fact that I'm feminine and a drag entertainer.  Also the fact that I embrace my sexuality and the fact that I&#…

Black School Changes Hair Policy After Dreadlock Ban Causes Stir

An Oklahoma charter school has decided to amend its dress code after drawing criticism for telling a 7-year-old girl that her dreadlocks were in violation of the school's policy.   Tiana Parker, 7 was dimissed from the Deborah Brown Community School in Tulsa and told her hairstyle was against school policy. The child's parents have decided to enroll Tiana in another school.   On Monday night, the schoolboard over turned the ban on dreadlocks, afros and other hairstyles, Dreadlocks are formed by locking, twisting or braiding hair.   The new policy states that only  students and parents are responsible for personal hygiene and that administrators have the right to contact parents or guardians regarding these issues. There are no specifications on hair styles. School board president Kenneth James said in a statement that the school administration did not intend to harm Tiana or her family and apologized if any harm did occur.James said the ban on dreadlocks, afros and other hairst…

We Remember 9/11 Never Forget

September 11th, 2001 is a day that is forever ingrained in my mind.  I was a sophomore in high school and I remember it like it was yesterday; my then principal announced that the USA is under attacked....Fast forward 12 years later, we are still standing.  Even in the face of President Obama and his wanting to strike Syria, we are still standing. I do hope that we don't enter into another needless war....Yes I said it. However, we will not forget those we lost on 9/11.

A Cinderella Story: Kunal Propsoses to Jason

Fairy tales do come true.  During a production of Rodger's and Hammerstein's  "Cinderella," fairy tale magic occured.   Kunal and Jason have been together for 2 years. Kunal, born in India, is an engineer and Jason is a retail manager for Verizon.  Kunal has been living in the states for 6 years.     Well,  Kunal put his own little fairy dust in the mix.  The men were brought up on stage by Santino Fontana, who plays the handsome Prince, under the premise that it was a special promotion. "Jason, will you be kind enough to accept me as the man of your life," began Kunal, who dropped to one knee, "And will you marry me?"

"This would be a best place to start our happily ever after like Cinderella and her Prince." Kunal put the icing on the cake. Even the stepmother seemed to have that love glow.

I'm Perfect... I'm Just Not The One For You

Why is it that whenever I choose to be single, all these busters and scrubs (TLC tea), with all of these hang ups approach me.  Over the weekend, this guy has been trying to get to know me, but the fact that I'm feminine and an entertainer is going to be an issue. I realize some guys can't handle that.
Well he asked me what I did over the weekend of course I told him what I did.  I worked and I did a show as my alter ego. He quickly says "I don't want to hear anything about that. I'm not being mean, but I don't care for that."

In the back of my mind I thought "then you really can't handle what comes with getting to know me and being with me."  I quickly scratched and discarded any potential of me even dating him.

Maybe I go overboard, but I would rather be in a relationship with someone who accepts my total being. Granted we all have things that may drive people crazy or something that may be a character flaw, however me just being …
