I'm An Old Soul

What is an Old Soul? An Old Soul is a young person who not necessarily acts like an old person, but they love music that people in the previous or older generation would love.
 I am an old soul.  As I write this blog, I am listening to some Patti LaBelle, old and new stuff, I have also listened to the late Sylvester James, The Weather Girls, Black Box, Motown, and some Rev. Thomas A. Dorsey, The Caravans, The Davis Sisters, and many other "old school" artists.
  I always had a more mature stance when it came to certain things such as television music, my personality, and how I carry myself. Although I am a gorgeous 26, I still have sort of an old spirit.  It shows in my wisdom and the things that I do and refuse to do.  I'm not ashamed to be an old soul.
  During the weekend, I was at my mom's house singing some early Phyllis Hyman and Angela Bofill, and my mom looked at me and asked "Boy, where did you hear that song? That's older than you." I just…

Delois Barrett Campbell and the Barrett Sisters "Jesus Loves Me"

Delois Barrett Campbell, the oldest of the trio, The Barrett Sisters went home to be with the Lord on August 2nd 2011 at the age of 2011. She was one of Gospel's greatest soprano's hailing from Chicago.  Here's a recent clip of her and the Barrett Sisters singing "Jesus Loves Me"  They sure don't sing Gospel like this anymore. Delois Barrett Campbell Passes at 85

Gospel Singer, Delois Barrett Campbell went home with Jesus on Tuesday, August, 2, 2011.  She was the oldest of the three sisters that made "The Barrett Sisters." The Barrett Sisters electrified audiences worldwide with their powerful harmonies.  They were raised on the South Side of Chicago. Delois also sang with the Roberta Martin singers as well as Thomas A. Dorsey.  She and her sisters were awarded a Stellar Award of achievement in 2008 by Ambassador Bobby Jones. the movie "Say, Amen Somebody." They became publicly noticed with the new generation in Please Keep the Barrett and Campbell family in your prayers.
